Montana Weekend

Updated: Nov 8, 2020

For many of you, traveling is your passion! We spend incredible amounts of energy planning trips, enjoying them, and sharing them with others. We’ll take a car, bus, plane, train, or maybe even ship to find a new adventure. Sometimes we travel for fun, sometimes for work, and sometimes just to get away.

This last weekend I turned a trip for work into a trip for pleasure! It’s always great when you can schedule a work trip for a Friday when you have the weekend off 😊 since the trip took me up near my Grandparents’ home, I decided to give them a bit of a surprise visit!

It turns out that it was also my Grandma’s 65th Birthday Weekend!

Saturday we spent the day snacking from one favorite hideaway to another. There were hot-wings and drinks at, then deep-fried pickles at The Old Saloon in Emigrant, Montana. Between our very delicious lunch and dinner, we drove up the road a few miles more to Gardner, Montana, and the new hot springs that opened there just a month ago.

They were luxurious! This is the perfect time to visit them before Yellowstone National Park and the springs themselves fill with tourists. As I said, we love to travel but not always the crush of people that comes with it! There were four or five different pools ranging from super cold to super hot, designed as a cleansing walk through as you move from warm to hot and finally to super cold. These pools looked out on beautiful mountains on both sides of the valley!

Dressing up a bit more we left the new hot springs for the fancy dining room of Chico Hotsprings Resort & Hotel. Here we wined and dined on some of the finest cuisine available in the Paradise Valley. My Prime Rib dinner was cooked perfectly and my Green Tea Creme Brulee dessert was divine.
