Of all the concerts I’ve been to over the last ten years, I think this one impressed me the least. It wasn’t necessarily because any of the musicians were bad. It was just not very well organized.
The first opener, a young woman out of Utah had a really amazing voice. I enjoyed the style of music she was going for but she played slow song after slow song and the audience really didn’t get pumped up for the next performer… which is an opener’s one job really.
The second opener was much better! He had a great voice too but he also got the audience moving and singing with him. I think he was actually my favorite performer of the night! He was entertaining and honestly could have been a great headliner if he was a more well-known name.
Clint Black came on and the crowd was really excited but I think the energy started to die off halfway through his performance. The thing that bothered me is when he performed the same song twice in an already shorter form concert because it was free so people would donate to the charity, Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
However, we still had a lot of fun and I would definitely go to another Clint Black concert if I ever had the opportunity. In the end, he got a standing ovation from the crowd and traffic leading out of the event was ridiculous!
The best part is that we raised thousands of dollars to support the research that has been helping cure childhood cancer.
*the pictures are not the best quality lol but you get the idea 😂
