Lemongrass is a great summertime essential oil. I especially love it because of its insect repellent properties! It’s perfect for camping trips and nights when we just want to enjoy the patio in our back yard. Lemongrass can also be used to relieve joint and muscle pain after long days of playing in the sunshine!
Caution! When using Lemongrass it is advisable to dilute with a carrier oil such as coconut oil, grape seed oil, or flax seed oil. Your skin could be sensitive to direct contact with it. I do use it directly but especially for children you should be careful!
doTerra’s Lemongrass essential oil is steam-distilled from the plant’s grass leaves. It is grown and cultivated in its native India. Historically Lemongrass has been used to fight infectious illnesses, fever, as insecticide, and as a sedative to the central nervous system.
